Random string in update note

When I start the launcher it sometimes shows a string of random numbers letters and other characters where the update note is supposed to be.

What I expected to happen was...:
being able to see the update notes.

What actually happened was...:
noticing a strange string of random characters

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch the Minecraft 1.2.1 Launcher
2. Be lucky to see the random characters xd
3. Be sad to see the random characters
