Minecraft launcher cannot find Javaw.exe

Whenever I've been trying to load Minecraft ,I've clicked the play button and after a short loading time the following message has appeared:

unable to locate the java runtime. error details:the operation completed successfully. Filename on disk: javaw.exe Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Minecraft Launcher\runtime\jre-x64\bin\javaw.exe Exists: Nonexistent

 I have tried the previous methods to fix this, including uninstalling and reinstalling Minecraft and following the suggestions from this bug report: https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MCL-5638?focusedCommentId=369707&page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels%3Acomment-tabpanel#comment-369707 

I have also checked and javaw.exe is located in the bin file as listed in the path above.
