Bug with launch

I installed the game last night. I tried setting up a profile which is working however when I open launcher it says im not connected. That is issue number 1. I then tried to start the game offline however it wont even load in. the bar gets 90% of the way than freezes. If i even click on the window it says its not responding. Then it crashes fully and gives me a notice saying minecraft has crashed due to unknown bug. I have updated all my Java and made sure I have enough room on my comp to run the application. It will not give me a crash report I dont know what else to try. Please help
