it wont let me access the launcher

I play minecraft on my laptop and I wanted to get mods so I always used twitch but then I decided I was going to try forge so I downloaded it. Then I went into the launcher and made my own version then I clicked play it launched but then it shut down and when it shut down it would no longer let me access the launcher or minecraft so I haven't been able to play.
