Blank window

I have an older laptop with an integrated and also a secondary graphics card.

The integrated is an Intel HD Graphics 3000

The secondary is a NVIDIA GeForce GT555M

If I launch Minecraft using the integrated card, the launcher all works and is visually fine, but the game runs slow.

If I launch using the GeForce GT555M, the launcher starts grey, flashes white then goes grey again and stays grey.

The buttons are there, but invisible, so I can launch the game which then runs a lot faster, but if I need to see any of the launch window graphics I can't.
