Minecraft Launcher, Error on launching 1.0

Currently when I open it up it shows my computer's desktop and it’s all purple and glitchy, it’s really like a virus, so what’s wrong with it is it just too old or my desktop? If you want more information say it now, on the comments thank you! DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE 1.0 VERISON
