When I open Minecraft Launcher and click play, it doesn't work.

When I go to my Minecraft Launcher and select the world I want to play in and click play, it will be at like 95-98% and it will stop loading. When you click on it, it loads and says that the Java(TM) Platform SE Binary is not responding. This happens every time I try to open the game. When I bought the game I forgot to install the Minecraft launcher, which is what I did I few minutes ago because I thought that might be the problem. It still isn't working, and I am going to try and see if restarting my computer works. I'm just frustrated because I bought the game on 4/12/2020, and it just doesn't want to work for me.
