Minecraft launcher not updateing with Minecraft.net

For some odd reason, my Minecraft launcher is not updating with minecraft.net, i changed my username, but the minecraft launcher still says my old name, and when i try to go into a multiplayer server, it says that there isnt authentication from Minecraft.net.
