i having problems with the launcher

i instaled diferents distributions of linux and in all of them i cant play versions of minecraft like 1.8.9, 1.8.8, 1.9. I just can play the last version please fix these problem or give me a solution. When i press the button to play the 1.8.9 version it says "the game stop working"
