whenever i try to log on mc it loads then crashes

so whenever I try to log onto Minecraft if its not like the latest version it crashes and most of the servers that I play on which are like cosmic prisons cosmic pvp hypixle and all they all run on 1.8.9 and it is entirely impossible for me to start playing Minecraft on a different version because this would mean I would have to find more popular servers which are rare too find which have all kind of players like eu na sa au Asia players and it wont be fun and it will be more stressful because I will have to start all over again in a whole another environment filled with other kinds of players; this means I have to buy to be good because if I don't I wont be known I wont be a competitive well known member of the society if your not there is no point of playing because its just hard to play with other people who wouldn't treat me like this
