Launcher will not open Minecraft v.1.14.4, but it will open 1.8.

I have attempted multiple times to open Minecraft v 1.14.4, but it will not open. changed to version 1.8, and it worked just fine. 

 

Any time I try with version 1.14.4, it stalls at what appears to be 85-90% of the way and then when I stop the task it says that an unexpected error occurred.
