Unable to install Minecraft for Windows 10 on PC

We just bought Minecraft for Windows 10 for PC but are unable to install it. It keeps telling us that there has been an unexpected error. I suspect the problem is connected to the fact that it looks like we've been redirected to the version for XBOX LIVE. I can tell from other support sites that we're not the only ones experiencing this problem. Can you help us correct this problem so that we get the correct version of Minecraft?

 

Btw I have no idea if I've entered the right "project ID" - none seemed to match my version.

 

I was advised to go to the refund site as well so I will start that process right away.

 

We hope to hear from you soon as our 9 year old is very much looking forward to playing the game.
