Failure to load mod/Unable to close "in progress" sesion

When attempting to open say 1.14 the launcher says that a game is in progress and what not, when there are no other minecraft tabs opened. This also makes it impossible to open modpacks. I believe a crash while opening "World of Trains, Season 2."
