when i try and start up minecraft forge 1.7.10 it doesn't work

i have done all the correct steps to get forge and installed it onto minecraft but as soon as i add one mod it says game crashed and i have tried different mods to see if its just that mod but its still the same. this is really upsetting bc this is my first time using mods and i really hope you can help!
