Minecraft launcher not opening

Downloaded/Reinstalled minecraft several times on windows 10 and after opening the launcher it runs for several minutes in the background then comes up with the error message: "Unable to start the Minecraft Runtime Enviroment. This is likely caused by a corruption. Please try and reinstall Minecraft" and the proceeds to not work, reinstalled Minecraft several times as well as my Java but nothing seems to help.
