about lag

whenever I load up minecraft, it starts to become laggy and it causes all my other websites to become laggy including my mouse. in addition to that, whenever i load up different versions e.g. 1.6.2 it still has the lag and i cant quiet understand why neither why its effecting my other apps or the internet.
