The game crashed whilst initializing game

Error: java.lang.IllegalStateException: GLFW error 65542: WGL: The driver does not appear to support OpenGL

 

I get the above error all of the sudden.  I have not made any change to my computer.  I have been able to launch Minecraft without issue before today.

 

NOTE:  checking the other threads, it seems similar issues have occured in the past.  However no thread I could find actually defined a solution/resolution.  Hopefully this form will provide an actual solution/resolution.
