Launcher does not respond when i press play

basically, I can open up the launcher just fine. The problem is when I press 'play' the launcher either does not come up or the launcher does come up but does not let you on to the actual game and in the corner, it says Minecraft (the game version I'm playing) Not responding. I've tried everything like reinstall the game and repair it but it still does not work. Please try to fix the problem Mojang, As soon as you can.
