Weird lag

When I try to run minecraft with a view distance of maximum chunks, i get a weird lag where i destroy a block then a few seconds later it finally disappears and gives me a block. When i lower the view distance to 16 chunks it goes back to normal. Game runs smooth otherwise.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. set video settings to max everything
2. try to destroy block
3. lower only view distance to 16
4. try to destroy block
