Weird piston behaviour, wrong piston extends

I had a double pistons extender. (see picture) I pressed the button and I expected the piston underneath the block to extend.

Instead the other piston extended.

How to reproduce:
1. build the setup
2. press the button
3. Notice that the other piston extends
