Black screen when in fullscreen mode

Whenever I start minecraft, I go in fullscreen mode with f11 and it is fine until I click on multiplayer. When I click multiplayer, the whole screen goes black. If I do manage to enter a server, it goes black if I right click or go into options, so it is basically unplayable. There is no crash report because the game does not crash, I can hear the game sounds still. Please help!
