Minecraft Launcher Not Loading

I opened Minecraft hoping to play the new 1.9 version. I was going to click on the play button like every other time I play.

What actually happened was the game did not load. I clicked play, and nothing happened. The thing is, it only happens on 1.9 for some reason. I switched versions to 1.9 and it JUST WILL NOT LOAD! I hope you can help! I really wanna play!

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Minecraft
2. Change version to 1.9
3. Click play (nothing will happen)
