Water that does not go down

Water that does not go down?

What I expected to happen was...:
The water would flow down from an ender dragon in overworld

What actually happened was...:
Had 1.4.7 and my lil brother placed a LOT of ender dragon spawners.They all spawned,CHASED me into an ocean and they ate the seafloor and no water flowed down?!

Steps to Reproduce:
1. have a TMI for any other V of minecraft, keep the saves when updating your minecraft.
2. Play a world that had TMI and had an enderdragon spawner in it
3. Play it, let the enderdragons "eat" the seafloor.
4. then go under the sea floor and the water will be perfectly still, not flowing down.
