Random crashes on loading world since 1.9 released

Since the update to 1.9 when I selected a world to play, it crashed on loading. Then I was able to get into the world after the crash, but no sound was present. So, I save and exited the world. Upon entering the world a 3rd time, it crashed again.
I was finally able to get my world to load again, so I am staying in it so I can play.
