Invisible players in multiplayer and bugs with elytra

When I play with my friend and we go like me to -1000 10 -1000 and he to 1000 10 1000, when I tp to him he says that I am invisible. A bug that causes this "invisibility" to me also bugs elytra, because I can't enable it and I won't be able to play well until I reload the map.
