Player Inventory Crafting/Shield Bug

I decided to try out the new pre-release to get a feel for what to expect for 1.9 in the coming days. So I make a new world on the most current pre-release and when I opened my inventory, I noticed the squares used for crafting weren't in the correct spots (this goes for the shield icon as well). I don't know why this is the case but it seems to me its a bug because in 1.8.9 the squares for crafting are fine and in the correct spots. Thanks in advance if it gets a fix!
