Enlarging Map on 1.9-pre2 shows broken output before leaving crafting table view

When increasing the map size, when moving the map from the crafting output to the current hand hot-bar, the map will output some very weird, broken display. This is fixed as soon as the player leaves the crafting table view.

This only seems to happen on a server, I cannot replicate the issue in Singleplayer.
