Pistons cause "ghost blocks" to form and push blocks

The pistons responsible for pushing the glass (in my case I've only seen it with glass) cause a duplicate "ghost-block" that can push blocks as well as change the color of a beacon. These blocks disappear or revert to the original placed block after a right click on said "ghost-block".
