3rd person shows right hand placing the block instead of left hand

The title is pretty self explanatory but when I go into 3rd person (f5) I see the player's main hand is placing the block instead of the player's off-hand slot. And this bug really annoys me and it looks weird seeing the player's main hand place the block instead of it being placed with the off hand.
