Language specific letters don't look like they should

There are some language specific letters that look different from normal Latin letters. It's very annoying and looks ugly.
Of course, you can choose Force Unicode Font: ON, but then the font lose its magic and doesn't look like Minecraft font should look. Russian and some other languages letters look bad even with Force Unicode Font: OFF.
Also I tried to fix those letters with a resource pack, but it still looks a little bit different (it lacks some sort of shadow).
