Resource Pack Crash

Minecraft 1.8.9 Crashes in Multiplayer when I take a resource pack off and a server tries to send me a resource pack

The steps are
1 Have a resource pack on
2 Go to hypixel
3 Play smash heroes
4 take off resource pack
