Fire indicator in furnace acts differently when connected to hopper

The fire indicator of the furnace remains high (full) untill the last couple of tickes. The in drops fully.
This was with a lava bucket

don't know if it is importend, but the furnace is in the nether

the other furnaces react normal in the nether
