Tools rise slowly

Tools rise slowly. Whenever I select a new tool either by scroll wheel or a number on the keyboard the animation for selecting the tool is very slow. I tried all the tools and it did this will all pickaxes, axes, shovels, and all but the iron and diamond hoes. No other items do this that I have tried. Other than swords (Corrected because of the comment below) Thanks for reading this, as I would guess that reading bug reports is boring
