block disappearing and item disappearing!

My brother build a big building and He hit the ground too hard and died and logout. Log back in and walk toward the building and the stuff and the building disappear. Also when he put stuff in a chest and logout and log back in the stuff was gone, and when he place the block logout and come back in it was gone.
