Blocks are darkened or blackened

This started happening about a few days after Christmas but I thought it would fix after I update my computer's drivers. I updated my drivers but the problem was still there! The bug causes blocks in the inventory/creative menu darkened. It might not affect my gameplay at all but it is annoying! In the image, the top 2 rows are some examples of the affected blocks while the items below are SOME examples of the unaffected items.

I am running minecraft 1.8.0
