Enemies won't drop items or exp

While killing skeletons in a skeleton Spawner on the most current version of Minecraft for the PS4, enemies suddenly stopped dropping items, including exp. Blocks still drop items when dug and animals still drop items, but not enemies. Naturally, this is quite detrimental to gameplay. I would appreciate any and all help/advice on this issue. Thank You.
