Bud switch updating constantly without being updated

When walking to get watermelon on my newly updated and expanded to large world for my automatic melon farm the bud switches on the farms continuously update themselves. They should only update when a new block is placed. Like when I melon is made. I tried reworking the redstone again and the same problem occurred. The bud switch running constantly makes a lot of noise and it also creates lag.
