Detector Rail powers redstone underneath oddly

If a minecart on a detector rail with redstone underneath is pushed by a piston, the redstone underneath will continue to be powered. I have demonstrated the glitch in the attached video. This does not happen if you are powering redstone to the side, only underneath.
