black screen w/ cursor when game loads after splash screen, music in background.

Running launcher with string:

The launcher loads, showing 1.8.9, launch it I get the splash screen then when it goes full screen it's black with cursor, I hear music, but no video but black screen, I have to alt-tab and hit x to close. I am not running in wayland
