End Portal Not Working In Survival

So I was in my survival world wanting to get some endstone for a build, I jumped in the portal expecting to go to the obsidian slab thing.
Instead I was sent to the void. I did some testing and found out that this only effects survival mode and that I am telaported to then end islands void, not the default Island.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go through the end portal in survival. Im am not sure if you have to beat the dragon first or not.
