8 layers of snow cover looks identical to a snow block, but it will not suffocate the grass beneath.

What I tried:
Place 8 layers of snow cover on grass blocks, and wait for them to turn to dirt.

What I expected was:
They would turn to dirt, as they would usually with snow blocks.

What actually happened was:
The snow cover would allow the grass to remain indefinitely.
