Realms player clone glitch

Died in a Realms server whilst inside a Nether portal, respawned (there was some lag while clicking the respawn button) and found a 'clone' of myself next to my bed. The clone did not respond to being pushed by water.

I retrieved my stuff, came back and he was still there. Decided to kill him, chat showed "knux400 was slain by knux400", when I logged out and back in, I died instantly. This kept happening every time I logged in and out until I reverted the Realms world to a backup. Screenshots attached.
