Chicken Bug

I was playing in a survival world when i saw a chicken at my door, when a villager went near the door it got attacked when i opened the door the chicken ran to me and then i died. and it said this:

JullianFTW was killed by Zombie

But it was a zombie running at me, i had a redstone clock on to kill all the zombies but it somehow past that,
