Minecraft crashed, resulting loss of portion of build (work)

What I expected to happen was...:

I was working on my structure, and i removed a Jukebox that was already placed, with an Axe.

What actually happened was...:

Within milliseconds of the action above taken, the game froze, and crashed. When i reloaded the World, everything that i was working on had disappeared! A space, about 30 by 40, everything that was built there was gone except for the ground. This includes a rather large tower structure i was building, along with several chests of items that i had spend considerable time building and accumulating. All these were just GONE. Is there any way to get these things back?

Steps to Reproduce:

Can't reproduce, because what i was working on no longer exists in the World.
