Spawn Glitch - Purgatory?

Every time I spawn, regardless of mode, I have no ability to move, nor are there any available resources. My computer also suddenly seems to be using a lot of resources, and its fan gets louder as well. Ultimately I have to force quit the game or restart my computer manually. Is this normal?
