Minecraft chunks not generating properly in 15w41b

I was flying around in the Elytra and I flew into a desert when I noticed an 16*16*17 hole of water. Next to it was a 16*16*16 chunk of sandstone, sand, and cactus. I don't know why this happened but here is a picture and the seed is -1923692684165822891
