You cannot hang on to climbable blocks while gliding with elytra

The Bug:

You cannot hang on to climbable blocks while gliding with elytra.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Build the setup as shown in the attachment below. setup.png
2. Equip elytra and fly into the ladders.
3. Take note as to whether or not you hang on to climbable blocks while gliding with elytra.

Observed Behavior:

You cannot hang on to climbable blocks.

Expected Behavior:

You would be able to hang on to climbable blocks.
