Can't Destroy Blocks.

I can't destroy anything in minecraft for pc. Well the game won't allow me to destroy things even though I am pressing the right button. It will however allow me to build things. I was on my Creative Mode world when it started, however now it seems to be effecting my Survival Mode worlds. That is all I can tell you.
