Item Duplication / Corrupt Player NBT

If this report is a duplicate of MC-78495 (private issue), I respectfully request to be added to view it. My server is overrun with players who use item duplication. So I have plenty of players willing to test and report on the fix.

Players have the ability to cause items to have a negative quantity which allows them to become infinite (duplicated).

To recreate this bug, players use TNT, a chest with the item they want to duplicate, and luck. They prime the TNT, then quickly move the item in and out of the chest.

In addition to this, once a player has these invalid items in their playerfile, under certain conditions, the playerfile can become corrupt, causing the player to lose all of their inventory and enderchest, returning them to spawn.
