Entities become invisible after death

I spawned many skeletons to find out if there was something hidden with skeletons. However, I ended up dying to them. When I respawned, I could see arrows flying, but there were no skeletons visible. I threw potions, and I could hear the skeletons taking damage, but there was nothing visible.
